A Hug Can Make My Day

The other day, both Chuck and I spent the whole day together, working at home. He was sitting on one side of the dining room table working away on his computer, and I was on the other side writing on mine. We spent about 5 hours like that, sitting across from each other, taking a break only to use the rest room, or to get a drink of water, etc. We took a short rest after that, and it wasn't until dinner time, as he was walking by me, that I stopped him, put my arms around him, and gave him a hug. When he hugged me back, it was as though the whole day's worth of tension, of working on our respective computers, faded away, and all that was left was this incredible love I have for this man, and the feeling of his arms around me, loving me back. We had spent all day together, but I felt more connected to him in those few seconds than I had all day. I have always heard about the importance of physical contact between couples, and how it helps a relationship thrive. But it really hit home to me on that particular day that it really can do wonders to remind two people how much they care about each other. So I highly recommend hugging your partner daily. Dare I say a hug a day keeps the divorce lawyers away???!!!

Reception Poem

When Chuck and I got married a few years back, I wrote him a poem about how I felt about him, and in the future, if he needed anything, I wanted to be the one there to provide it for him. He was so touched, he said he wanted to read it during our wedding reception, so people would know the type of woman he was marrying. As he started to read it, people began to giggle, then outright laugh as he continued to read. He couldn't even get through the whole thing because it was causing such a commotion. We never understood why people found this funny. Any thoughts on why the laughter? I am including a link to the poem here so you can read it:

What Makes Me Feel Loved

I was recently going through some old emails and came across a list of things that Chuck does that make me feel loved. Here they are, in no particular order. How about you? What does your significant other do that makes you feel loved? I feel loved by Chuck when: 1) I get lots of hugs and kisses 2) I get flowers from him 3) We go out to eat for romantic dinners 4) I am listened to 5) We drink wine together, just the 2 of us sometimes because those moments are intimate 6) My dreams and goals are taken seriously, not laughed off 7) He touches my face 8) I get back rubs! 9) He makes me coffee, especially in the a.m. 10) I get to sleep late, and he doesn't wake me up 11) Being served coffee in bed in the morning 12) When we have "dates" planned for just the 2 of us, and nothing is allowed to interfere with that ( like when friends call to get together during that time, we both say no because we already have plans for the 2 of us) 13) He calls me during the day just to say hello 14) When my input is considered before plans are made with others 15) He gives me cards just because, and always for each day when he goes on a trip 16) Getting surprise notes hidden where I can find them at any time 17) When my children are cared about and prayed for by him, even when their behavior is not exactly the best 18) When doors are opened for me, and I get help putting my coats on, etc....makes me feel like a queen 19) When he takes me in his arms and kisses me on the spur of the moment 20) When he brings back little goodies for my girls from his travels 21) When he plans things for us to do with my parents 22) When he wears my favorite men's cologne because he knows how much I like it 23) Any time he holds my hand 24) When he is so happy when introducing me to his friends and peers as his wife 25) When he does things for my kids that make them happy 26) When he tells me he likes it when I put my head on his shoulder 27) The way he likes to cuddle with me in bed 28) That he always tell me how beautiful I look 29) When he tells me he loves me often 30) When he tells me his most honest thoughts…about anything, and especially about things that make him uncomfortable…even when it’s hard to do 31) That he loves me no matter what I weigh 32) That loves me unconditionally

Our First Dance

Chuck and I were looking for a very special song for our first dance. We didn't want it to be a cliche first dance song that everyone uses. One of our very favorite singers, since the beginning of our relationship, has been Josh Groban. He is SOOO romantic. And so are we. I had Chuck listen to the words and we both liked them very much, so For Always was the song we chose for the first dance at our wedding. I love this song and every time I hear it, I fall more and more in love with my husband! I strongly feel these words, and feel our marriage is not only "till death do us part" but For Always...onto eternity...just as the song says. I hope you enjoy these words and think of them in a romantic light. For Always I close my eyes And there in the shadows I see your light You come to me out of my dreams across The night You take my hand Though you may be so many stars away I know that our spirits and souls are one We´ve circled the moon and we´ve touched the sun So here we´ll stay For Always Forever Beyond here and on to eternity For Always Forever For us there´s no time and no space No barrier love won´t erase Wherever you go I still know in my heart you will be With me From this day on I´m certain that I´ll never be alone I know what my heart must have always known That love has a power that´s all it´s own And For Always Forever Now we can fly And For Always and always We will go on beyond goodbye For Always Forever Beyond here and on to eternity For Always And ever You´ll be a part of me And For Always Forever One thousand tomorrows may cross the sky And For Always And always We will go on beyond goodbye
